McHenry Hohnen

Established in 2004, McHenry Hohnen is a joint venture between pioneering Margaret River winemaker and founder of Cape Mentelle, David Hohnen, and his brother-in-law and vine grower, Murray McHenry.

McHenry Hohnen sources fruit from their Hazel's, Burnside and Calgardup Brook Margaret River vineyards. The estate Hazel's Vineyard is on the home block near the winery. It is farmed biodynamically on a north facing slope of ironstone gravels. Its northern exposure mixed with southerly cooling influences make it the ideal site for the winery's Bordeaux varieties. Their southern Margaret River vineyard sites reveal their greater exposure to the Southern Ocean.

McHenry Hohnen's highlights include the red blend Rolling Stone, as well as the Burnside and Calgardup Brook Chardonnays, distinctive expressions of southern Margaret River Chardonnay.
